Single Elimination Softball Tournament Rules


1. Team Composition:

Teams must consist of a minimum of 10 players and a maximum of 13 players.

kids tournament ages: 12-15 years old

Adult tournament: 18 years old +


2. Game Duration:

Each game will last 7 innings or 1 hour, whichever comes first.

No new inning will start after 55 minutes.


3. Run Rule:

One home run per team per inning

Any additional home runs will be considered an out

If a team is leading by 10 or more runs after 5 innings, the game will be called.


4. Batting Order:

Teams must submit a batting order before the game starts.

The batting order cannot be changed once the game begins.


5. Pitching:

Modified Slow-pitch only.

The pitcher must have at least one foot on the pitcher's mound when delivering the pitch.

The ball must have an arc of at least 6 feet but no more than 12 feet.


6. Batting:

A foul ball with two strikes is an out.

No bunting or chopping down on the ball is allowed.


7. Base Running:

No leading off bases.

Runners can leave the base once the ball is hit.

Sliding is allowed, but unnecessary roughness will result in ejection.


8. Fielding:

Each team must field 9 players, including a pitcher and catcher.

Substitutions are allowed but must be reported to the umpire and the opposing team.


9. Sportsmanship:

Unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated and may result in ejection.

Respect the umpires' decisions. Any disputes should be handled calmly and respectfully.


10. Tiebreaker:

If the game is tied after 7 innings or the time limit, a tiebreaker inning will be played.

Each team will start with a runner on second base and no outs.


11. Equipment:

Only official ASA/USA Softball-approved bats and balls are allowed.

All players must wear proper softball attire and equipment.


12. Forfeits:

Teams must be ready to play at their scheduled time. A 10-minute grace period will be allowed.

After 10 minutes, the game will be considered a forfeit if a team does not have enough players.


13. Championship Game:

The winners of the preliminary games will advance to the championship game.

The same rules apply for the championship game.


14. Safety:

All players participate at their own risk.

First aid will be available on-site for minor injuries.


15. Weather Policy:

In case of bad weather, the tournament committee will decide whether to postpone or cancel the games.
